The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is seeking a Digital Project Management Advisor to join the Digital Services (DS) team within the Information Management Branch (IMB). IMB is committed to operating high-quality digital information products and services for humanitarians to access essential information for better analysis and decision-making for effective action. This position will encompass working on DS-lead projects, collaborating on joint projects with other teams, and occasionally supporting other OCHA properties.With rapidly growing demand for its services, IMB is seeking a Digital Project Management consultant to support its core team in strategizing, developing and managing digital projects. The consultant should have experience in managing project teams, project managers, and processes.
Functional Responsibilities
- Develops, implements and evaluates assigned programmes/projects, etc.; monitors and analyzes programme/project development and implementation; reviews relevant documents and reports; identifies problems and issues to be addressed and initiates corrective actions; liaises with relevant parties; ensures follow-up actions.
- Performs consulting assignments, in collaboration with the client, by planning facilitating workshops, through other interactive sessions and assisting in developing the action plan the client will use to manage the change.
Provide technical assistance and advisory services to project managers and product owners, which includes:
- In collaboration with project managers, develop standards, processes, and communication protocols, as well as the overall management of organizational resources
- Assisting digital teams in the creation of project management materials, recordkeeping systems and other tools
Help assess, organize and coordinate resources for project managers and product owners.
Researches, analyzes and presents information gathered from diverse sources.
Generates survey initiatives; designs data collection tools; reviews, analyzes and interprets responses, identify problems/issues and prepares conclusions.
Organizes and prepares written outputs, e.g. draft background papers, analysis, sections of reports and studies, inputs to publications, etc.
Provides substantive backstopping to consultative and other meetings, conferences, etc., to include proposing agenda topics, identifying participants, preparation of documents and presentations, etc.
Initiates and coordinates outreach activities; conducts training workshops, seminars, etc.; makes presentations on assigned topics/activities.
Performs other duties as required.
Education/Experience/Language Requirements
Education:
- An advanced degree in relevant field is required;
- A first level university degree with additional two years of experience can be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.
Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience as project manager, account manager or similar role
- Proven track record in digital project management and product management, particularly in the application of Agile methodologies
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Language:
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
